The BMW M4 has a ton of performance upgrade parts available. The 6 cylinder turbocharged engine can easily be boosted up with some simple performance parts like an Exhaust, Intake, and ECU Tune. Along with power parts to take the 425hp engine to 500+ horsepower, you can upgrade the suspension parts, add different styling with carbon fiber lip spoilers, trunk wings, and diffusers, as well as change out the wheels.

Other than the single-panel M Force bass system at $1295, the M4s are the least expensive of Spatial’s line. The base M4 model, the Turbo S, sells for $1995 per pair. The pair that I am reviewing are in the M4 Triode Master configuration and sell for $2995. M4 instances provide a balance of compute, memory, and network resources, and it is a good choice for many applications. One of the most popular upgrades for the BMW M4 F82 is the exhaust system. The factory exhaust has valves that open and close based on your M Performance selection. Many of the aftermarket exhaust systems include this function to be retained. The main reason to add an exhaust on the M4 is to improve the exhaust flow. Turbocharged cars need no restriction coming off the turbo, but without some type of muffler, the exhaust tone would be extremely loud. Along with an exhaust, a high flow cat or catless downpipe from the turbo is a good upgrade. This will give you much more gains on the mid to top end RPM. In addition to the exhaust system, upgrading your air intake system to provide more air flow into the turbo is a good idea. This can be done with a cold air intake kit or for something more affordable, replacement flat panel filters.

Like most turbocharged cars, tuning the vehicle will yield the most gains. This can be accomplished two different ways with the BMW F8X M car. You can do a Tuning Box Kit which is plug and play to adjust the cars boost, fuel, and timing or you can do a conventional ECU Flash. The tuning box gives you a more warranty safe mod since it can be removed quite easily. However tuning box kits cannot make changes to the ECU for needs such as raising the O2 limits for catless downpipes. An ECU flash can change your VMAX, torque limiters, O2 sensors, and much more. Having tested the Tuning Box Kit and our ECU Flash on different vehicles with the same mods and same dyno, the gains are very similar between the two.

Improving upon the BMW M3 or M4 handling and stance can be done with a plethora of suspension and wheel options. To keep the cars electronic suspension working for you, we recommend going with a set of lowering springs. For those that want more adjustability in dampening or ride height, replacement of the full shock to a coilover is best. When it comes to wheels, this depends on your styling and color choice. Most wheels for the M3 and M4 are custom build to order. You can choose either a 3 piece forged wheel, 1 piece monoblock forged wheel, or a flow forged wheel. Flow Forged is like a forged wheel at the price of a cast wheel. It is extremely light and its make up keeps it very strong compared to a cast wheel.
